Expertise and experience

Géophoton Inc. was founded in Montreal (Canada) in 2021 by Benoît St-Onge (Ph.D.), whose expertise in 3D remote sensing and forestry has continually expanded throughout his successful academic and business career. Benoît St-Onge is one of the pioneers of airborne lidar in Canada, having been the first to combine lidar and photogrammetry to map forest structure or to demonstrate the possibility of identifying tree species using multispectral lidar. He is also a co-inventor of two patents for a remote sensing-based forest management system.

Géophoton Inc. collaborates with consultants as needed or participates in consortiums with other companies to fulfill specific mandates. Its clientele spans from Canada to West Africa.
